Portland vacay

After we got back from Cabo, Kirk had to fly home the next morning to get back to work. I stayed for another week with my family because my cousin Leslie was getting married the following weekend. I had a great time hanging out with my family. We were able to spend quite a bit of time with Matt, Jen and Jackson. It was wonderful to see them. We also saw Stacey and Allan a lot. It is fun being pregnant at the same time as Stacey. She had a 3d ultrasound and we were able to get a peek of Connor! We spent a few days at my parents cabin on Harstine Island. Jake took his first boat ride, went swimming and played on the beach. My cousin Leslie's wedding was on Saturday 6/18 in Seattle. It was such a beautiful wedding and we had a great time.
After over 2 weeks away from home, Jake and I flew back on Monday. Up next, we are home for a week and then going to KC for the 4th of July!

I love this picture. Jake looks so innocent and sweet.

On the way to the beach with Grammie. He was so excited he wouldn't ride in his stroller, he ran the whole way.

Swimming in the community pool. It was a little chilly though. It was only about 70 outside, but when you are used to 95, it feels cold!

Having fun on Jake's first boat ride.

BabyMoon!

Kirk and I decided that we needed a trip together before the new babe is born. So, we flew Jacob out to my parents in Portland, OR and then we flew on the next morning to Cabo, Mexico. We stayed at a resort called the Pueblo Bonito Sunset Beach. It was so beautiful, but huge! You had to take golf carts everywhere because it was way too far to walk. We were there for 4 full days. Most of the time we spent by the pool and sleeping in and taking naps. One day, we took a shuttle to one of the main beach where we took a water taxi tour. It was such a wonderful, restful vacation that Kirk and I both needed. We can't wait to be able to do it again, but it may be a little harder with 2 kiddos!

Charlotte, NC

Kirk interviewed this spring for his fellowship training and we found out we will be headed to Charlotte, NC. As if his training isn't long enough, he has added on an additional year. So, the first year he will do a sports medicine fellowship, and the second year will be a foot/ankle fellowship. As long as he doesn't add anything else on to his training, he can then get a real job!! I know it is still 3 years away, but it feels like the end is FINALLY in sight. We are very excited to move to Charlotte. I have heard nothing but good things about the city. They let you know very far in advance, so we have 1 year to sell our house and be settled in Charlotte. This is going to be a busy year with the new baby coming in September and then trying to get the house on the market!

Summer time!

It has been so hot here for the past week. I thought we would have a few more weeks of nice spring weather, but it has been around 95 degrees every day and it doesn't look like we will be getting break. Jake and I usually try to walk Mel 3-4 miles 5-6 days a week, but with the hot weather it has been hard. We have to get up early and out the door by 7am or it is too hot for all of us! I am going to need to find some indoor activities for Jake and I to do, or this is going to be a long summer. I got a baby pool and put it in our back yard that he enjoyed playing in and also took him to the Y pool which he loved! I'm sure we will be spending a lot of time there this summer.

Grammie visits

My mom came for a visit last week and we had such a great time. She was able to babysit for us so Kirk and I could go to a rehearsal dinner and wedding of some of our good friends.
Here are some pictures from her visit. We are flying out to Portland on June 5th and my parents are going to watch Jake for Kirk and I and we will be going to Cabo San Lucas! We can't wait for a vacation!

Beautiful Grammie and Jacob!

Riding the carousel. We always ride it when we go to the zoo and Jake loves it!
