4 months

I am so amazed that Jacob is 4 months old already. We went for his 4 month check up yesterday and his Dr. said he was doing great. He had a small hole in his heart when he was born but yesterday, Dr. Long couldn't hear it anymore. We will still have to go back to the cardiologist in September, but it most likely closed on its own like they thought it would.

Here are a few things he has been up to this month....

- he has started rolling over from his back to his stomach.

- he loves playing in his jumperoo

-Jake is sleeping about 12 hours at night, and wakes up once during that time to eat. (I am a very lucky mommy)

- He is 18.5 lbs and 27.5 inches. Dr. Long said he is in the >99%.

- Jake is so happy and smiles all the time. I get some laughs out of him sometimes too.

-He is a drool machine.

- He also loves sucking on his hands/fingers. He tries to stick his entire fist in his mouth. He won't take a pacifier, but will put himself to sleep by sucking on his hand.

-Jake went swimming for the first time and absolutely loved it! He kicked around like crazy. We will be going to the pool more often.

-His hair is falling out! It is coming out mainly in the front, so he looks like a balding old man! His new hair is definitely coming in blond.

Jacob is growing so fast. I can't wait to see what he will be up to the next month!

Playing in "johnny jump up"

Jacob with his daddy. Such handsome men!

Such a chubby little guy. I love it!!! I think by the look on his face, he gets really annoyed with all the pictures I take of him.

Such a busy boy, playing with all his toys.

Jackson is here!

On July 17th my sweet nephew Jackson Matthew Spiegelberg was born. He is such a precious gift from God. He was born with a few medical problems. Here is a link to his webpage.

Who does Jacob look like?

So Kirk and I have been looking through our baby pictures and can't decide who Jacob looks like. Here are a few pictures of us as babies.

Happy Anniversary

Kirk and I celebrated our 4-year wedding anniversary on July 1st. It feels like just yesterday that I was walking down the aisle towards Kirk and we were starting our lives together. I feel so blessed to have such a loving, supportive husband. I love you Kirkus!

3 months already?!?

Time is flying by and my man turned 3 months on June 25. We celebrated the day along with Kirk's 31st birthday.

Here are a few of the things he has been up to this month.
-He loves playing on his play mat and hitting/grabbing his toys.
-He also likes to sit in his Bumbo. His head is strong enough that he can hold it up with no problems now.
-We have also been working on his tummy time recently. When on his tummy, he pushes himself up on his arms and looks all around. He has also rolled over twice from his tummy to his back.
-We got him a "johnny jump up" that he likes to play in. He hasn't gotten the hang of jumping, but he tries and has fun swinging around in it.
-I have weighed him on our scale and think he is around 17lbs.
- He usually sleeps around 7-8 hrs at night, and wakes up to eat a little and then goes back to sleep for another 3-4 hours. He also takes a 3 hour nap in the afternoon.
- He loves to smile and has even given us a few little laughs.

Our trip to Washington

Jacob and I went out to the West coast for the first time to visit my family. On the way there, we flew through KC. My dad met us there and we then flew together to Portland. It was very nice to have someone to help me with Jake on the plane. Jake did a great job on the plane rides. He slept most of the time and didn't have any major crying!
No one but my parents knew I was coming, so it was a lot of fun surprising everyone. We were able to drive to Yakima, WA to visit my grandparents. It was nice to be able to introduce their first great-grandchild to them. While I was there I was able to go to a baby shower for my sister-in-law Jen and a bridal shower for my cousin Jacqueline. Jacob was also able to meet most of my aunts, uncles and cousins. We spent a few days at my parents cabin on Harstine Island.
It was a great trip and we miss everyone!!

There was another baby sitting behind us on the plane who was fussy, so my dad and I put these noise canceling headphones on Jacob. He liked listening to the music.

Jacob and I surprising Stacey!
Matt meeting Jacob for the first time. Getting some practice before the arrival of baby Jackson!
Jacob was so sweet and smiley on our trip. He laughed for the first time when Uncle Matt was making noises at him. It was the most precious thing.

What a life... taking a nap on the beach.
