We have a climber

I can't leave Jake alone at all. We had baby-proofed our family room and put a gate up so it was safe for him, but didn't take into account when he starts to climb. This is what happens as soon as I leave the room! It is crazy chasing him around and trying to keep him safe!

20 weeks/ 5 months!

I can't believe I am already half way through my second pregnancy. Last time it went so slowly because that's all I had to focus on. This time, I am chasing around Jacob and it is going by so fast. I have been feeling really great recently. I was having really bad headaches, but my Dr. said it was ok to drink 1 cup of coffee a day, and doing that has completely made the headaches go away! Now that those are gone, I am really enjoying this pregnancy. I'm not huge yet and still have quite a bit of energy. I have been feeling this little guy move around a bit. A few times he has given me some really strong kicks, but it is still just usually random movement.

Easter Bunny

I thought it would be fun to take Jacob to see the Easter bunny. He did so great when we visited Santa at Christmas, I just assumed he would like the bunny too. Well as soon as he spotted him, he held on to me as tight as he could and did not want to let go. Then the screaming began....

1st haircut

So Kirk and I finally broke down and took Jacob to get his first haircut. He had the most adorable blond curls, but I didn't want people to start thinking he was a girl. So, we took him to the barbershop where Kirk gets his haircut. He did a great job and didn't cry at all. He looks so grown up now!

It's a boy

Kirk and I were very excited to find out that our newest addition is going to be a boy. Most importantly though, it looks like he is a healthy little man so far. It will be wonderful to have a 2 boy and watch them grow up together. I hope they grow up being best friends. I think I am going to have my hands full!

Trip to the zoo

Jacob and I went to the zoo this week with one of our friends Kelly and her daughter Caroline. Caroline and Jacob are only 2 weeks apart, so perfect to play with. We had a great time, and even bought a season pass so we can spend more time there this summer.

They had the biggest playground I have ever seen. This is the best picture I could get of Jake because he was too busy playing.

This tiger made eye contact with the kids and looked like it was kind of stalking them. Good thing there was a big barrier!

We got to ride the carousel and Jake loved it. He was a little unsure at first, but quickly warmed up to it.

Swimming lessons

I signed Jacob up for swimming lessons at the YMCA. He has always loved the water, so I figured he would love to swim in the pool too. He absolutely loves his swimming lessons. We practice floating on his back and stomach, holding onto the side, jumping in from the side, and blowing bubbles. I'm sure we will be spending a lot of time at the pool this summer!
