Who does Jacob look like?

So Kirk and I have been looking through our baby pictures and can't decide who Jacob looks like. Here are a few pictures of us as babies.

Happy Anniversary

Kirk and I celebrated our 4-year wedding anniversary on July 1st. It feels like just yesterday that I was walking down the aisle towards Kirk and we were starting our lives together. I feel so blessed to have such a loving, supportive husband. I love you Kirkus!

3 months already?!?

Time is flying by and my man turned 3 months on June 25. We celebrated the day along with Kirk's 31st birthday.

Here are a few of the things he has been up to this month.

-He loves playing on his play mat and hitting/grabbing his toys.

-He also likes to sit in his Bumbo. His head is strong enough that he can hold it up with no problems now.

-We have also been working on his tummy time recently. When on his tummy, he pushes himself up on his arms and looks all around. He has also rolled over twice from his tummy to his back.

-We got him a "johnny jump up" that he likes to play in. He hasn't gotten the hang of jumping, but he tries and has fun swinging around in it.

-I have weighed him on our scale and think he is around 17lbs.

- He usually sleeps around 7-8 hrs at night, and wakes up to eat a little and then goes back to sleep for another 3-4 hours. He also takes a 3 hour nap in the afternoon.

- He loves to smile and has even given us a few little laughs.

Our trip to Washington

Jacob and I went out to the West coast for the first time to visit my family. On the way there, we flew through KC. My dad met us there and we then flew together to Portland. It was very nice to have someone to help me with Jake on the plane. Jake did a great job on the plane rides. He slept most of the time and didn't have any major crying!

No one but my parents knew I was coming, so it was a lot of fun surprising everyone. We were able to drive to Yakima, WA to visit my grandparents. It was nice to be able to introduce their first great-grandchild to them. While I was there I was able to go to a baby shower for my sister-in-law Jen and a bridal shower for my cousin Jacqueline. Jacob was also able to meet most of my aunts, uncles and cousins. We spent a few days at my parents cabin on Harstine Island.

It was a great trip and we miss everyone!!

There was another baby sitting behind us on the plane who was fussy, so my dad and I put these noise canceling headphones on Jacob. He liked listening to the music.

Jacob was so sweet and smiley on our trip. He laughed for the first time when Uncle Matt was making noises at him. It was the most precious thing.

2 months!!

I can't believe my baby is 2 months old already. He is growing like a weed! We went to the Dr yesterday for his check-up and he is 14 lbs and 24.5 inches long. That is the 99 percentile for height and weight. I knew he was a big boy, but that just seems huge. I guess that's what you get with 2 tall parents!

Jacob is still such a good baby. He is very content most of the time. He has started smiling more and more every day. He is on the verge of laughing. I know it will come out one of these days. It truly melts my heart to have him smile at me! The only time he gets upset is when he is hungry, and he gets hysterical until he is fed, and then he is fine. He had been sleeping 6-7 hours at a time, but he is back to wanting to eat every 3-4 hours. I can't wait until we can get a little more sleep!

Kirk and I have decided that I am going to be a stay at home mom. I feel so blessed to be able to be home with Jacob. Being in Nashville without any family around, it made the most sense for me to be home with him.

I can't wait to see what the upcoming months hold for Jacob. He seems to be learning more and more every day. He brings Kirk and I so much happiness and joy. We feel so lucky to be his parents. Here are some pictures of Jacob at 2 months old.

Jacobs baptism

This past week we were able to go to Kansas City and spend time with the McCullough's. While we were there, we had Jacob baptised. The baptism took place at Church of the Holy Rosary in Wea, KS which is the McCullough's parish. After the baptism, they had a party at their home and Jacob was able to meet a lot of family!

Jacob in his baptismal gown. This gown was worn by Grandaddy McCullough and all of his brothers and all of Jacob's uncles. It is over 50 years old. His great grandmother McCullough was able to attend the baptism and was very surprised to see him wearing the gown after all these years. It was very special.

Carolyn and Gerard are Jacob's god-parents. It meant a lot to us to have them with us and be such a special part of Jacob's life.
